Outside of his professional roles, he is an expedition leader, guiding groups through challenging environments including the Arctic Circle, the Namib Desert, the jungles of Costa Rica and the mountains of Patagonia. He also volunteers weekly with the Samaritans, supporting their mission to reduce suicide.
